Tournaments will reportedly reward winners and participants with FC 26 Coins special player items, coin bonuses, and packs, offering meaningful reasons to join beyond just the fun of competition. For casual players especially, these shorter events might feel less intimidating than FUT Champs and more flexible compared to Division Rivals.
Although the full format is still under wraps, it’s expected that Tournaments will either use a traditional knockout bracket or a more modern points-based system. Either way, the addition of structured, rewarding weekly content is likely to be warmly welcomed by the community.
FUT Champs Getting a Much-Needed Rework
Alongside the return of Tournaments, the leak also indicates that FUT Champs will undergo a fundamental transformation. This has long been one of Ultimate Team’s most controversial features. Although it's a major draw for hardcore players, many casual users find it overwhelming due to its time commitment and tough competition.
To make FUT Champs more inclusive, FC 26 will reportedly introduce a dual-tier system. This would divide the competition into two separate formats:
A casual tier, which would offer easier entry, softer matchmaking, and more modest rewards.
A competitive tier, designed for experienced and elite players, with top-tier rewards and stronger opponents.
This shift would allow more players to engage with FUT Champs without the stress that currently drives many away. It recognizes that not all players can or want to play at a highly competitive level for dozens of matches each weekend. By catering to both ends of the player base, EA Sports could dramatically increase participation and EAFC 26 Coins satisfaction.
